I beleive that there should be more representation of people from other countries in desi companies, but when more number of desis apply for jobs. Is it any fault of the company is they are hiring only them?.

I completely agree with amitjoey and willigetgc.
Blaming IV on one hand for the lack of enthusiasm and support from EB3 community and on the other hand - for a stand-still in the Congress when it comes to EB specific bills/laws is inappropriate. And then asking IV to drum up a fake EB3 relief measure to encourage this community is a disastrous way to go.
I recently spoke with one of the admins (reached via contacts page) who gave a very realistic view of how things stand in the Congress and otherwise...and I truly encourage other members to talk to the right folks to get facts rather than getting misled by pure rhetoric. I trust that IV core advocacy wil identify the right bills/legislations to push for and hopefully regional grass-roots members will support those efforts. This Diversity bill might prove to be good practice but we should not have any false hopes. it just gives us another reason to blame IV later on - and IV is the only true platform we have.
Other than that let me just paste the following I wrote on another thread in response to Plainspeak's approach -

With the points you have raised and the negative vibes you have created between EB2 vs EB3, you have shown that you are concerned and frustrated only about your own personal GC situation and are trying to use the EB3 tag to shove it down my throat. 1. IV core needs to put a lot of resources to lobby for the DV bill, knowing full well that this bill will go nowhere!

3. An exercise to gain trust by misleading!:D

Again you are saying it's a SKILL cap. We can agree business may hire whoever they please but don't pretend that they only hire based on SKILL..
when someone says let business hire the "best and brightest", that's my problem, he implies the best and brightest are concentrated in only two countries so that's what's insane, that's why he won't be taken seriously.

Because of all these experiences, even when you genuinely smile or strike a conversation with a desi, he/she first suspects you to be an ammway guy. I face it everyday, being "outgoing extrovert" in nature, I tend to smile and talk to people in elevators, walkways, malls, restrooms, groceries etc... which is mostly casual fun stuff and most times desis suspect that I am a ammway guy and cut me out harshly.

We all have different views and support different nut jobs standing in elections. The real sad part is to see some people who I dont think are really bad, openly in this discussion forum putting one community down. Supporting a arsonist, a murderer, a rapist and who has blood of 2000 innocent people on his hands as a "good" administrator is an insult to the intellegence we all claim to have. All communities/castes/religions have suffered enough in India already and not one religion or people can claim to be on morally high ground. We all have kept quiet through the darkest times in India. We should not anymore. Stop insulting the great men (Nehru, Gandhi and others) of our country. With out them and their work we all would be polishing the shoes of some firangi. We are young and we should think about pushing India forward, otherwise some of us with our twisted thinking (for sure we are all showing here) will be the next numb nuts standing in the elections in few years. If you see the numbers for EB2 ROW there are still 7000 visas pending.
Offcourse many are from 2007 and 2008
How is it possible?Is it not EB2 ROW and EB1 was always current?

Madrid, April 21: Forging bilateral strategies to combat terrorism, boosting trade and investments and consolidating ties with the European Union will be high on the agenda as President Pratibha Patil starts high-level parleys with the Spanish leadership here on Tuesday.
Patil, who arrived in Spanish capital last night with a delegation comprising Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Ashwani Kumar and senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs, will hold meetings with King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia later in the day.
Maintaining that both Spain and India are victims of the scourge of terrorism, the President told reporters onboard her aircraft that the two countries share the common challenges and the common determination to strengthen the forces of peace, security and development.
Though the issue of terrorism will be high on the agenda of deliberations between the leaders of India and Spain, "it has to be seen what the other country brings to the table during the talks," officials said.
The visit comes in the backdrop of reports of presence of al-Qaeda's network in Spain, which is also suffering at the hands of Basque group ETA, which has been identified as a terrorist outfit by the Spanish government.
India and Spain have agreed "in principle" to work closely on bilateral strategies to combat the menace and the process is "underway", Kumar said.

For the past 2 years there were so many RFEs and denials and no body knew what basis. But if they bring a regulation and follow that everybody can prepare ahead and no surprises. It is not a question of making profit. They have to make profit by following law and ethics and not by using loopholes. The regulations will make the companies to follow the rules of the game. If bodyshoppers follow the law and ethics without any fraud they will become reputed companies and the regulations will not destroy them. But their profit may go down but good for everyone. Inspite of insane rules annual cap is reached even unemployment is decade high. I would term protectionist if annual cap is reduced or they make restrictions such that h1b cap usage is so low. In India best persons are available and whatever restrictions they put Indian techies will overcome unless they block it completely. 65k H1b is attached to WTO and no way they can reduce that.

A question about the FB spillover: according to your data, there are about 30000 FB visa spillover from last year. But does USCIS have to use up all of them? If the answer is yes, then the September VB will very likely be current. If the USCIS only need to use up the 147000 EB and use whatever portion of the FB spillover, then September VB may not move.
They can waste numbers and come up with excuses. But because of criticism from Ombudsman, Congress, etc it looks like they are trying to shape up. They can adjudicate 30 k petitions are more in 2 months if they are committed to. We could get an idea, if there is a deluge of approvals in the first half of August.
