And Do you (canadian wanna be) have any clue that to get respected salary and position you will be forced by illiterate Canadians to have "Professional Engineering Certificates"... It will suck blood out of your body for 5 years... So just do not read "Greener Side" of Canadian Immigration... I know it may not be applicable to all but more or less most of will have to face the same music in their careers. My all Canadian friends and relatives want to be Americans.. Only some of them practically could proceed for that.. After some stage of life it becomes hard to move families.. That is the reason they are facing now to take decision and simultaneously do not want to live in Canada anymore.. If you have 101 fever it will take 1 month to have Doctor's appointment... GST.. Higher taxes.. statistically there are chances "Most of members of this forum - Canadian Wanna Be" will have less promotions and/or increments in salary eventhough they will find themselves most skilled wherever they will work. Top posts would be the dream for most of you guys unless you start your own business.. if you understand what I am trying to tell... In USA it is not that way.... An excellent idea so far from any member. This can certainly make govt/congress serious about EB issues. And if govt really goes ahead and does something as mentioned in the post, it'll benefit current GC waiter homeowners to get their GC fast and also persuade GC waiters who are still on fence about home buying decision.

I have been saying this for the past one year, let us forget everything else, let us not come up with new rules or ideas or suggestions (new quotas, fraud detection, sue USCIS fund, exteneded APs etc). Focus all our energies on the one issue that will help everyone from all affected countries....Recapture of Unused Visas.
Recapture campaign will not divide us in EB 1 Vs 2 Vs 3 or countries. Over the past year a number of people have quit because of the bickering.
Recapture has a precedent because it was approved by Clinton earlier.
Recapture is free of country caps and it does not affect the existing visas. Murthy's article mentions that 120k are stuck in limbo and we know that there are around 400k visas available...i dont know what more motivation people need to fight for this issues.
On our own each one of us can do the following:
a) Try to arrange a meeting with your congressman and senators
b) write a letter to all members of the Judicary committee
after that do whatever IV tells you to do
If its recapture, then so be it.

Wouldn't you think? If we have enough resources (a membership-based IV), perhaps we could explore the possibility of legal action, perhaps even a class action (not a lawyer myself... so not sure if that's in the realm of possibility... ), against this unconstitutional statute that restricts skilled folks from certain countries on the basis of diversity.
Diversity would be OK if folks from other countries weren't getting their Green Cards because of lack of immigrant visa numbers (in absence of per-country quota). But if each year the annual quotas of 140K aren't beint utilized, there's no rationale for restricting folks born in certain countries even though they have the necessary skills, imo.
Overall, treating countries with a population of 1 billion and over the same as countries with a lower population than the city of Los Angeles is insane.

How about I ask you why the "diversity" is not needed in other things. how about a quota for religion? profession? color of skin...? all those can be diversity issue. What if I said not more than 7% STEM graduates? I'm sure the Programmers Guild would agree. If you don't like those ideas, why country of birth?
The fact remains though that EB is a skill based category. If I or you(?) join a company with identical (or better) credentials as someone from Congo/Sweden/Belize (whatever), they would have an EB2 GC in 1-2 years, we would sit for 10 and stew under multiple career holds and restrictions. Since no body from India would ever get the EB2 GC quickly, an entire subset of immigrants (based on country of birth) are ALWAYS held behind. You are presuming that somehow this benefits the US. Get skilled immigrants- but don't let a whole bunch of them rise to their levels of ability because they were born wrong. I am at a disadvantage because other people from my country applied for a GC. But when my employer takes me on, he does not care where I was born. My skillset has nothing to do with it. Why is my application (which is based on that employer and my skillset) hostage to something that is not even in the equation? This country is about individual freedom. I am here and an applicant for GC as an individual. What do I have to do with others who apply?

Well - world is definitely a beautiful place. World is beautiful because of beautiful good people. Like there is a saying "How is house different from a home? House maybe be beatiful and big but it is a home ONLY if it is a happy place to live" and making the world our home lies in how we make sure that it is a happy place to live.
While your approach towards solving the problems is "education" in my opinion education does help, but that is NOT the only factor. Change happens gradually. Don't we all agree that the most educated people might be the biggest "problem creators"
WRT snathan - he is a personal friend and I know him. He is sympathetic towards poor and downtrodden and wants to fight against injustice etc.....
To snathan - to understand things in a better perspective, I recommend that you try this. Invite 30 hungry, poor, starving people to your house and provide them with food, education, good life and ask them to seek opportunities to better themselves. You may face the following
(1) People may get more demanding
(2) They may fight among themselves
(3) Some might steal from you
(4) Some might get into unethical activities
(5) Some might disrespect you and step over you
(6) They may show more respect to those who did not care for them and curse you for some silly reason.
You might find some good people who really do what you intend them to do.
Why I say this is - there is no GOOD POOR MAN nor BAD RICH MAN - different people behave different in different circumstances.
Did you know that India's independence struggle, American civil liberty struggle were all funded by rich businessmen - they trusted the leaders and gave a lot of money for campaigns for them to be successful.
You think like Donald Trump, start learning how Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and good many other folks think... Once they become who they are now they realized that they are bigger and able to do some good for their country/world. How about Trump, once he became Trump he just stayed there... So now when has to given respect who would you give respect?????

Does anybody know how many EB2-I and EB2-ROW PERMs were processed for 2006, 2007 and 2008? Once we know these numbers it will be easy to predict EB2-I movement as all of the spillover numbers will be used primarily by EB2 India.

This a very optimistic prediction....
i think .. most with PD of jan 2005 and earlier will get their GC ..thus in OCT VB the dates will pull back a bit..maybe mid 2004...so first qtr will be bad news for anyone with a PD after jan 2005,...but the 2nd and 3rd qtr.. the dates will be definitely be in mid 2006.

I like the idea but I believe at this time it is crucial to continue participation in the letter campaign. If we do not get success through it, I will be glad to participate in the lawsuit. Also, like me, at that time there might be hundreds of people willing to be a part.

No one has to debate who were murdered so mercilessly in the train. These were innocent people. No one has to debate who were killed after that....2000 innocent people....your logic that innocent people should be murdered and raped and burnt when other innocent people are killed does not make sense. In the end "INNOCENTS" are the ones harmed. It is debatable whether the riots were stoppable or not, but atleast dont support the person, views or murder of 2000 children, women and men.

There are 2 ways you have to be in Indian politics. Bottom-to-top and Top-to-bottom. Sanjay Dutt, Murli Devra's son, Rajesh Pilot's son, MadhavRao SIndhia's son are some good example of Top-to-bottom. They can be MPs and MLAs but again can't go in heart of general public. Many of them would have short tem political life. Mamta Benergee, Mayavati, Mulayam, lalu, Narendra Modi, Sharad Yadav and many others are example of bottom-to-top.
Rahul Gandhi doesn't want to be labeled as top-to-bottom. It won't last long.

Write them a letter saying that you were educated in English and you are proficient inEnglish. They dont care for IELTS if you apply for US.

2. How did you guys get experience letter from current employer, probably by saying we are getting visa for our parent to come here... any other ideas???
3. There are certain requirement for pictures to be taken, is it possible to get from walgreens or walmart.

Don't worry I have already done my homework with law offices or CIS, as I had to show all incomes during interviews. Keep on squeaking.
One somewhat unrelated question --- Why did you have to attend an interview with CIS (and show your income) ?
AFAIK CIS interviews only during adjudication of 485 (for some cases) .. never heard of CIS interviewing for extension of H1 or other matters. If they are interviewing EB 3 2006 cases it is a good sign
